Community Meeting – February 13, 2020
On Thursday, Feb. 13 over 150 Franklin Square residents came to the second public Franklin Square Forward evening meeting at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant. Katherine Tarasico welcomed everyone who attended and asked people to write their questions and suggestions on the papers that were available at each table. Bill Youngfert gave a report on the four meetings that were held by the FS Forward steering committee with state and county elected officials.
Darren Boerckel shared photos of designs developed for changes to the Franklin Square Theatre interior, if we are successful in purchasing the property from the current owner. There will be a “Go Fund Me” site established to raise a portion of funds needed to make the purchase possible. This information will be shared on social media sites later this week and on the Franklin Square Forward website at: https://www.franklinsquareforward.org
Committee members then described the unique, important and historical architectural resources located in our downtown area. There was time for questions and answers from the audience at the end of the meeting. The next meeting will be on March 20 at 7 PM at the Plattduetsche Park Restaurant again.
